What is Rock Point School?

Different by design!

Rock Point School is a small inclusive, independent boarding and day school for grades 9–12 in Burlington, Vermont, serving bright and creative students who may not have found success in conventional classrooms and seek a different experience.

Founded in 1928, Rock Point School is accredited by the Association of Independent Schools of New England (AISNE) and is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Many of our students experience anxiety, ADHD, level 1 autism, or learning differences and benefit from personalized academics, small classes, and a strong focus on social-emotional growth. Students are also often exploring questions of identity, and Rock Point has long been a welcoming and affirming community.

Our 130 acre campus is located just a walk away from both the shores of Lake Champlain and downtown Burlington, making outdoor recreation and the energy of a vibrant college town a natural extension of the classroom. With several nearby colleges and universities, students have opportunities to explore future educational pathways, while community service and experiential learning help deepen their connection to the broader community.

Through a relationship-based approach to education, mentorship, and flexibility within the classroom, Rock Point School students are known, supported, and encouraged to be their authentic selves and realize their full potential.
